Royal Victoria is a DLR Zone 3 station in the Royal Docks area, serving the ExCeL London exhibition centre and the surrounding Royal Victoria Dock. The station is an important stop for exhibition and event visitors -ExCeL hosts major consumer shows, trade fairs and international conferences throughout the year.
Royal Victoria opened in 1994 on the DLR Beckton branch. It sits in Zone 3 between Canning Town and Custom House, with excellent views over the Royal Victoria Dock -the largest of the three Royal Docks. The area was one of the world's busiest industrial ports until the 1960s and is now being regenerated as a major new mixed-use district.
ExCeL London is a 100,000 square metre exhibition and conference centre directly beside the station. It hosts events throughout the year including the London Boat Show, the Comic Con, major trade shows and international summits. Check the ExCeL website for upcoming events during your visit.
The Royal Victoria Dock offers watersports, cable car rides (Emirates Air Line, accessible from nearby Royal Victoria) and a growing number of restaurants and bars along the dock edge. The dock is also used for open water swimming events and regattas.
