Uttam Nagar East Metro Station is an elevated Blue Line station serving the eastern half of the Uttam Nagar neighbourhood in West Delhi. Together with Uttam Nagar West, it provides comprehensive metro coverage for one of Delhi's most densely populated outer city districts. Opened in 2005, the station has been a daily fixture for the working-class and middle-class residents of this area.
The eastern section of Uttam Nagar has a somewhat more commercial character than the western end, with more busy road junctions, wholesale markets, and service businesses. The station is at the transitional zone between Uttam Nagar and the more organised residential belt of Janakpuri, just one stop east on the Blue Line.
For residents of Uttam Nagar East, the metro station has been a significant quality-of-life improvement, enabling fast commutes to Rajiv Chowk in around 25 to 30 minutes. The surrounding area is known for its budget-friendly shopping and the vibrant street culture that characterises much of outer West Delhi.
If you are heading to Uttam Nagar East Commercial Area, Uttam Nagar East is your closest metro stop on the Blue Line. It also gives easy access to Vikas Puri (short auto ride) and Local Community Parks and Schools. Use the fare calculator to plan your journey cost before you travel.
