Eastcote station serves a pleasant suburban village in the London Borough of Hillingdon that retains a genuinely local character. The area is a conservation zone and Eastcote House Gardens - historic walled gardens managed by the council - are immediately adjacent to the station. The gardens occupy the grounds of a former manor house and include walled kitchen gardens, a herb garden and a dovecote, all freely accessible and rarely crowded. Highfield Park, another open green space, is also nearby. Eastcote feels notably quieter and more preserved than many outer Piccadilly line stops.
