Watford Metropolitan station is the terminus of the Metropolitan line's Watford branch, but it is important to note that this station is not the same as Watford Junction - the main National Rail hub on the other side of Watford town centre. The two stations are separate, about twenty minutes walk apart, and serve very different routes. The Metropolitan line station sits at the edge of Watford town centre and provides access to the Intu Watford shopping centre (now rebranded as simply Watford shopping centre) and the wider town. For fast services to London Euston, Watford Junction National Rail is the better option.
Watford Metropolitan station opened in 1925 as the terminus of the Watford branch. It sits in Zone 7 and is served by the Metropolitan line only. The station does not have step-free access. It is the terminus of the Watford branch - all trains head south-east back towards London from here.
The Metropolitan line (magenta, Watford branch) runs south-east from Watford through Croxley, Rickmansworth, Chorleywood, Chalfont and Latimer and onward to Harrow-on-the-Hill and Baker Street. Journey time to Baker Street is approximately forty-five minutes.
Watford Metropolitan station has toilets, shops and a travel information point. The shopping centre is adjacent to the station. Watford town centre has a full range of shops, restaurants and services within walking distance.
Watford Metropolitan station does not have step-free access. For accessible travel to Watford, Watford Junction National Rail station has better accessibility and faster services to London Euston.

Watford FC - accessible by bus from the town centre. Vicarage Road stadium, home of Watford Football Club.
Cassiobury Park - a short bus ride or twenty-minute walk. A large public park in Watford with the River Gade and good green space. Free.
Metropolitan line services at Watford run from approximately 05:00 to midnight. The station is busiest during weekday rush hours. Note that the shopping centre opening hours determine when the adjacent station area has the most activity.
