West Ruislip is the western terminus of the Central line and one of those end-of-the-line stations where the Underground's transition from city transport to something closer to a rural bus service feels most pronounced. The station sits surrounded by green belt land in the London Borough of Hillingdon. The car park is large by Underground standards, reflecting its role as the primary park-and-ride point for Central line commuters arriving from Buckinghamshire and western Middlesex. Beyond the car park, the Colne Valley Regional Park and Ruislip Woods - both substantial natural areas - are within easy reach.
