Parc de Belleville - 15 minutes walk uphill. A terraced park with a waterfall and an outstanding free panoramic view over Paris. Picnic-friendly.
Rue de Belleville - Directly outside. Excellent Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants at very affordable prices. Best at lunchtime and early evening.
Père Lachaise Cemetery - 10 minutes walk south-east. Jim Morrison, Édith Piaf, Oscar Wilde and many others. Free entry.
Standard Métro hours. The neighbourhood is most atmospheric on Sunday afternoons when local families fill the streets and the park. The street food scene on Rue de Belleville is active from lunchtime through the early evening.
