About Al Qiyadah

Al Qiyadah, whose name means "The Leadership" in Arabic, stands on Al Ittihad Road close to the Dubai Police General Headquarters, and it is the largest elevated station on the entire Green Line. Built to move big passenger volumes, its raised platforms can handle thousands of riders an hour in each direction, and it acts as a busy gateway between the main Al Ittihad corridor and the residential streets of Hor Al Anz behind it.

This is very much a working, local part of the city rather than a visitor district. Government offices, residential blocks and everyday shops surround the station, and most passengers here are staff, residents and commuters going about their daily routines rather than tourists exploring the sights.

Station Overview

Al Qiyadah opened in 2011 on the Dubai Metro Green Line and sits in Zone 6 of the NOL fare system. It is an elevated station on a viaduct and the largest of its kind on the Green Line, served by the network's fully automated, driverless trains.

Al Qiyadah is a Green Line station. Trains run towards Abu Hail and the Etisalat by e& terminus in one direction, and towards the underground Deira and Bur Dubai heritage stops in the other. To reach the Red Line, change at Union or BurJuman.

Station Layout and Structure

Al Qiyadah is a large elevated station with two tracks and generous platforms, reached by lifts, escalators and stairs.
