About Dubai Airport Free Zone

Dubai Airport Free Zone Station serves one of Dubai's active commercial and financial districts. The area is dominated by corporate offices, free zone facilities and professional services, making this a major commuter station on weekday mornings and evenings. Weekends see a different, quieter character.

The Dubai Metro is the most efficient way to reach these business districts during peak hours, when Sheikh Zayed Road and the surrounding arterials can be severely congested. The metro's punctuality and air-conditioned comfort make it a practical daily choice for the large workforce in this area.

Station Overview

Dubai Airport Free Zone Station opened in 2011 on the Dubai Metro's Green Line. It is classified as Zone 5 under the NOL card fare system. The Dubai Metro is a fully automated, driverless system operating on elevated viaducts and underground sections, offering fast, reliable and air-conditioned travel across the city.

Lines and Connectivity

The Green Line connects Dubai Airport Free Zone to major destinations across Dubai. Red Line stations stretch from the UAE Exchange terminus in Jebel Ali through central Dubai to the Centrepoint terminus in the east. Green Line stations loop through Deira and Bur Dubai, connecting to the Red Line at Union and BurJuman.

Women and children have a dedicated carriage in the middle of each train, clearly marked on the platform.
