About Alperton

Alperton station serves a neighbourhood in the London Borough of Brent with a large and long-established Gujarati Indian community. The area around Ealing Road, a short walk from the station, is widely considered one of the best places in London for authentic Gujarati vegetarian food - not for tourists but for locals, with sweet shops selling traditional mithai, restaurants serving thali meals at very good value, and grocers stocking every ingredient needed for home cooking. If you are looking for genuine Gujarati food in London, Alperton is often where food writers direct you. The Grand Union Canal, accessible from the area, provides a pleasant walking and cycling route through west London.
