DMCC

DMCC is the station for Jumeirah Lakes Towers, the dense cluster of high-rise towers set around a chain of artificial lakes at the southern end of Sheikh Zayed Road. Named after the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre free zone that anchors the district, it is one of the busiest residential and business stops on the Red Line, and on a weekday morning the flow of office workers and residents heading for the platforms is constant.

What makes DMCC particularly useful is its footbridge to the Dubai Tram. This is not a Red and Green Line interchange, but the covered walkway to the neighbouring tram stop lets you continue into Dubai Marina, JBR and the Palm Jumeirah monorail without hailing a taxi. For anyone staying in the Marina area, DMCC is often the most practical arrival point on the metro.

Station Overview

DMCC opened in 2010 on the Dubai Metro Red Line and sits in Zone 2 of the NOL fare system. It is an elevated station on a viaduct beside Sheikh Zayed Road, and the trains, like the rest of the network, are fully automated and driverless.

Lines and Connectivity

DMCC is a Red Line station. Heading north-east the line runs towards Downtown, Deira and the Centrepoint terminus, while south-west it continues past Ibn Battuta towards the Route 2020 branch and Expo City. A footbridge connects to the Dubai Tram for the Marina and JBR, and for the Green Line you change at BurJuman or Union.

Station Layout and Structure

DMCC is an elevated station reached by lifts, escalators and stairs, with the covered bridge running off the concourse towards the tram stop and the JLT towers. Facilities include toilets, ATMs, NOL top-up machines, a staffed service point and small shops. Gold Class carriages are at the front of each train and a women and children carriage runs in the middle.

Accessibility

DMCC has full step-free access, with lifts linking street level, the concourse and the platform, and a level walkway across to the tram. Tactile paving, audio announcements and platform screen doors are all in place, so wheelchair users and families with pushchairs can move through the station comfortably.

• Use the footbridge to the Dubai Tram if you are heading into the Marina, JBR or towards the Palm Jumeirah monorail.
• A single NOL card covers the metro-to-tram transfer, so you do not need a separate ticket.
• Expect heavy crowds at the morning and evening commuter peaks given how many people live and work in JLT.
• For the Green Line, change at BurJuman or Union.
• A NOL card costs AED 25 including AED 19 of credit and works across metro, tram, bus and marine transport.
• The metro runs Saturday to Wednesday 05:00-00:00, Thursday 05:00-01:00 and Friday 08:00-01:00.

Trains at DMCC run Saturday to Wednesday 05:00-00:00, Thursday 05:00-01:00 and Friday 08:00-01:00. Weekday rush hours around 07:30-09:30 and 17:00-19:30 are the busiest, driven by the JLT working population, while weekend evenings bring leisure crowds heading to the Marina. Late mornings and early afternoons are the calmest times to travel through.
